Health/Nutrition Education

Nutrition education works with physical education to create healthy student change. It is important for students to learn not only why it is important to eat properly, but how to make healthy choices, to sample healthy snacks, and to attend school in an environment that supports healthy living.
Key messages of our nutrition education products include:
- Increase consumption of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and non-fat or low-fat milk or dairy products
- Balance caloric intake from food and beverages with calories expended (upper grades)
- Try new foods
- Choose healthy snacks
- Wash hands before eating
